In this unit, pupils will use the book 'Lulu Gets a Cat' as a springboard to learning about non-fiction information texts on cats. Pupils will compare fiction and non-fiction texts before learning how to write statement and command sentences for an information page about looking after cats.
You will learn to write an information page, including commands.
Instructions can be added to an information report to tell someone what to do and how to do it, such as 'Feed your cat'. Instructions can also be called commands as they are commanding someone to do something.

Mistake: Pupils may struggle to sequence their instructions. Correction: Complete lesson 8 first as this breaks down how to write commands needed for the lesson. Allow pupils to then use their instructions to present and add to their information page.
