How does Thinkee work?

How do I create a child profile?

Go to your Dashboard and click Add Child Profile. Enter the name, age, avatar, subjects, daily goal, timed mode, sound effects, and a 5-digit PIN. Click Create Profile.

How do I edit or delete a child profile?

From the Dashboard, find the child's card and click Edit to change settings, or Delete to remove the profile. Deleting permanently removes all progress data.

What is the PIN for?

A 5-digit PIN prevents a child from switching to another profile without permission. The child enters it when selecting their avatar in Play Mode. It is optional.

What does the Daily Goal do?

Sets a target number of questions per day (10, 15, 20, 25, or 30). Shown as a motivational goal in Play Mode — the quiz is not limited to this number.

What is Timed Mode?

When enabled, each question displays a countdown timer (set by the administrator). If time runs out the question is marked and the child moves on. It adds a fun challenge for older or more confident children. You can enable or disable it in the child's profile settings.

When enabled, the child hears a chime for a correct answer and a buzz for an incorrect one. You can toggle this on or off in the child's profile settings.

Can I set difficulty levels per subject?

Yes. In the child's profile (Edit), each selected subject has a difficulty dropdown: Mixed, Easy, Medium, or Hard. Mixed serves questions of all difficulty levels in random order.

How are questions matched to my child's age?

Age 6–7 → KS1 questions. Age 8–11 → KS2 questions. Age 12–14 → KS3 questions. Age 15–16 → KS4 questions. Update the child's age in their profile if the questions feel too easy or too hard.

How many questions are in a session?

Each session loads up to 15 questions. The app tracks which questions have been answered and avoids repeating them. When all questions for a subject are used, it resets and starts the cycle again.

Where do I see my child's results?

Dashboard → Progress on any child's card. Shows total questions answered, accuracy %, day streak, progress by subject, weekly activity chart, and badges earned.

How is the quiz score calculated?

The score is based on the first attempt only. If your child answers a question incorrectly and then retries and gets it right, only the first (incorrect) attempt counts towards the quiz score. For example, if your child answers 9 questions and gets 5 wrong on the first try (but later corrects them), the result shows 4 out of 9. This encourages careful thinking before answering. Your child can still retry wrong answers to learn the correct one — retries just do not change the score. All attempts are recorded in the background for progress tracking.

What are day streaks?

A streak counts how many consecutive days the child has answered at least one question. Streaks unlock special badges.

What is Study Hub?

Study Hub is Thinkee’s extra revision area. It includes study guides and lesson videos for parents and pupils who want more structured topic revision alongside quizzes.

How do lesson videos work?

Open Study Hub, select a year, subject, unit, and lesson, then watch the lesson video directly on the page. Use the playback speed control under the player if you want to slow down or speed up the video.

What is the Review page?

The Review page collects all skipped and incorrectly answered questions so your child can see the correct answers and learn from their mistakes. It is accessible from the top navigation bar in Play Mode and from the quiz results screen.

How does my child use the Review page?

Your child taps 📋 Review in the top bar or from the quiz results screen. They can filter by subject, expand any question to see the correct answer, select questions they have reviewed, and clear them from the list.

What is the review queue limit?

The review queue has a maximum capacity. If the queue is full and the child answers more questions incorrectly, older review items are replaced by newer ones. Encourage your child to check and clear reviewed questions regularly.

Badges are awarded automatically for milestones — answering 10 questions correctly, a 3-day streak, trying 5 different subjects, and more.

Yes. No adverts, no external links, no chat features, and no personal data collected directly from children. All data is stored under the parent account. Parents can delete all data at any time. Compliant with UK GDPR for children.

The app tracks answered questions and avoids repetition. When all questions in a subject are used, the cycle resets automatically.
