Places of worship: what makes them sacred?
In this unit pupils build on their understanding of belonging to investigate similarities and differences between churches, synagogues and mosques. They will explore how their is diversity within religious buildings as well as between worldviews.
You will learn to describe some similarities and differences between different types of synagogues.
Some synagogues are purpose built and some have been changed into synagogues. All synagogues will have an ark to house Torah scrolls.

Mistake: There is only one type of synagogue. Correction: Synagogues come in different shapes and sizes.
