Pupils must be able to identify how the modern structure of the workplace will impact their future lives. This unit will facilitate a deeper comprehension of the methods employed by organisations and the impact the use of IT in the working environment has on all stakeholders.
You will learn to identify and compare a range of digital communication tools appropriate for different workplace scenarios.
Common digital communication tools include email, instant messaging, video conferencing and file sharing platforms. Synchronous communication is communication that happens in real time.

Mistake: Synchronous communication tools are better than asynchronous communication tools. Correction: Neither type of communication can be deemed better than the other overall. Some forms of communication will suit different tasks better than others.
