Cold environments
This unit teaches pupils about the location, characterisitics, opprtunities and challenges associated with one global environment, either hot deserts or cold environments. Pupils will also learn about plant and animal adaptation and about issues facing their chosen environment.
You will learn to explain opportunities and challenges of developing cold environments in Northern Canada.
Northern Canada is an example of a cold environment. There are opportunities for development in Northern Canada (mineral extraction, energy, fishing, tourism).

Mistake: Cold environments cannot support any form of development. Correction: While challenging, development is possible in cold environments with proper planning and technology.
