Year 10 - German
People and lifestyle: wer sind wir?
This unit revisits the present tense of 'sein' and 'haben', weak verbs, open and closed question formation and word order 1 and 2. It introduces nationality nouns and gender neutral language, and reinforces simple (I do) and ongoing (I am doing) functions of the present tense.
You will learn to use numbers and Word Order 2 to learn facts about Germany and Switzerland.
Subject and verb are inverted in Word Order 2 (WO2). German numbers are written as one word.
inverts the subject and verb in a sentence. Say or write it in a short sentence so you use the word actively.
Mistake: German says double digits the same way as English. Correction: In German, we say units first and then tens.
