Year 10 - Maths
Plans and elevations
In this unit, pupils will be considering a 3-D shape from different viewpoints in order to draw the side and front elevations as well as the plan view.
You will learn to use your knowledge of plans and elevations to solve problems.
The plans and elevations may be drawn to scale. You can combine an isometric drawing with its plan and elevations to find missing information.
The plan of a solid is the view of it from above. Use this word when showing your method, then check your final answer is reasonable.
Mistake: Curves cannot be drawn on isometric paper. Correction: It is perfectly possible to draw a curve on isometric paper.
