Cyber threats and security
This unit enables pupils to develop awareness of a range of cybersecurity threats that impact the world and us as individuals. They will explore different forms of attack, both non-automated and automated and how encryption tools can be used to protect communication.
You will learn to describe the importance of cybersecurity and explain different career pathways into the field.
Cybersecurity protects data, systems and people. Cyber threats are real and constantly evolving.

Mistake: Cybersecurity jobs are only for highly technical people who know how to code or hack. Correction: Cybersecurity careers are diverse, and many roles value communication, analytical thinking, problem solving and ethical judgment just as much as technical skills.
