Network fundamentals
In this unit pupils will be develop their understanding of computer networks by looking at network models and the tasks performed by network hardware. They will discover the differences between wired and wireless transmission media and the factors that can affect the performance of a network.
You will learn to describe how wireless networks work and what advantages and drawbacks they have.
Wireless networks use radio waves or other wireless methods to connect devices without cables. Wireless networks provide flexibility and mobility, but may have limitations, like interference and security risks.

Mistake: Wireless networks are always better than wired ones because they don't use cables. Correction: Wireless is more convenient, but it can be slower, less secure and more prone to interference. Wired connections are often better for speed, stability and data heavy tasks.
