Year 11 - German
Media and technology: Die weite Welt
This unit consolidates known grammar with practice of modal verbs in present and past, reflexive verbs in two-verb structures, es gibt vs es gab and imperatives.(Sie, formal). Pupils also revise 'man' with verb to avoid the passive.
You will learn to read and understand a variety of texts, identifying and eliminating distractors, and write an extended text about health and lifestyle.
Reading and understanding texts needs attention to vocabulary, structures and a focus on required details. A distractor is a misleading detail in a text or question option which tests your understanding of the detail of a text.
a misleading detail in a text or question. Say or write it in a short sentence so you use the word actively.
Mistake: When writing in German, accuracy is the most important thing, so it's best to keep sentences short and clear. Correction: When producing written work in German, try to develop and extend your sentences to demonstrate grammatical complexity. This must, of course, be balanced with accuracy, which enables you to communicate your ideas clearly.
