  • Word order 1 is the standard word order: subject-verb-object. Use WO1 after conjunctions 'und', 'oder', 'aber', 'denn'.
  • Word order 2 (inversion) is when subject and verb swap position so the verb is always the second idea in the sentence.
  • Word order 3 (subordination) is when the verb is sent to the end of the clause. Use WO3 after some conjunctions.
  • Use WO3 after: 'weil', 'obwohl', 'dass', 'wenn', 'ob', 'da', 'bevor', 'als', 'nachdem', 'sobald' and 'falls'.
  • When describing a photo, use the acronym PALM. It stands for People, Action, Location, Mood. Add your own opinions too.
