Year 11 - Maths
Vectors
In this unit, pupil understanding of vectors is deepened with pupils exploring column vector notation and arithmetic procedures.
You will learn to represent information graphically given column vectors.
When translating, the entire shape moves. Although the point moves, the journey is not drawn.
A vector can be used to describe a translation. Use this word when showing your method, then check your final answer is reasonable.
Mistake: When describing the movement of vectors, "across" is used to describe a horizontal movement. Correction: Embed the understanding that "across" refers to the horizontal component, but the direction must be described concisely as a vector has direction and magnitude.
