Invasion games: tactics and strategies when leading a team in Korfball
This unit challenges pupils to apply some tactics and strategies gained from netball and basketball to a new sport whilst focusing on respect for others and leadership skill development. Pupils will apply more advanced tactics and strategies whilst securing their understanding of a new game.
You will learn to demonstrate tactics and positioning to help your team maintain possession.
Move: performing a combination of body/ball feints misleads defenders and creates opportunities for passing or shooting. Move: a firm, stable screen helps a teammate get free and catch the ball in space for a better shot on goal.
a quick, fake movement (with the body or ball) used to trick a defender and create space to pass, move or shoot.
Mistake: Pupils think it is only defenders that screen attackers. Correction: Attackers should also screen defenders to allow other attacking teammates to run into the space.
