This is a profile portrait drawing unit that incorporates photographing and drawing the face in profile, printing and relief sculpture. Pupils will not only draw the face, but celebrate what is unique about themselves incorporating this into their art.
You will learn to identify the features of portraits and profile portraits.
A portrait is a picture of a person and it focuses on their face and expression. Common features of a portrait include eyes, nose, mouth, ears and hair, chin, eyebrows, neck, shoulders.

Mistake: Pupils might think that, in a profile portrait, both eyes and ears are visible. Correction: In a true profile portrait, only one eye and one ear are typically visible, as the subject is viewed from the side.
