Year 2 - Art and design
Me, myself and others: clay sculpture
This unit examines the pupils' sense of self and explores their relationships with others. They will make clay figures, small drawings and prints as well as collecting photos. They will design and make sculptures from a wire armature and masking tape, before combining their elements.
You will learn to express feelings using colour, lines and shapes.
Abstract art does not show real objects but instead uses colours, shapes and lines to express feelings and ideas. Art can express emotions and connect people.
a type of art that uses shapes, colours, and lines to show feelings or ideas instead of drawing things exactly how they look in real life.
Mistake: Art is only about copying what things look like, rather than expressing feelings. Correction: You can use colours, shapes, or lines to share your mood or ideas.
