Year 2 - Art and design
Paradise island: drawing and sculpture
This unit develops pupils' ability to draw expressively and imaginatively in a range of media. They will investigate how and why artists create their art, before designing and sculpting an imaginary paradise island either individually or collaboratively.
You will learn to create a paradise scene inspired by an artist.
Artists make creative choices about colour, shape and composition to show ideas. You can look closely at artworks to identify how artists represent an idea.
somewhere you feel safe, calm and happy.
Mistake: When painting, pupils may try to paint everything at once without letting layers dry. Correction: When painting, it is important to paint the background first and let it dry before adding other elements on top.
