Cooking without heat
During this unit, pupils continue to acquire and develop their food skills. Pupils learn about the structure of a recipe and how to use the 'bridge hold' and 'claw grip'.
You will learn to make simple sushi.
Sushi is associated with Japan, but has origins in Southeast Asia. It is traditionally made with rice and raw fish. Recipes can be inspired by foods and dishes from around the world.

Mistake: All sushi includes raw fish. Correction: Although raw fish is a common ingredient, not all sushi includes fish. Other ingredients are used, such as vegetables, fruit, egg, and cooked fish and meat.
