This unit develops pupils' knowledge of freestanding structures and how to make them more stable. Pupils will analyse different structures, shapes and construction techniques to make piece of play equipment.
You will learn to explore and create playground structures using construction kits.

Mistake: Structures that are anchored down are not freestanding. Correction: Structures which are anchored down can be freestanding, such as play equipment. A structure which is joined to another structure, such as a radiator joined to a wall, is not freestanding.
