This unit develops pupils' knowledge of simple mechanisms. By making levers and sliders, pupils will apply their knowledge of the characteristics of paper and card to make their own moving cards.
You will learn to use different techniques to finish your moving card effectively.
Card and paper can be used to add effects to a moving card. Materials other than card and paper can add effects to a moving card.

Mistake: A common mistake is not understanding that different joining methods need to be used for different materials and reasons. Correction: Some joining techniques such as PVA can be more messy and cause colours in materials to run, for example. Through adding PVA to the object being attached, this usually causes a neater, better presented outcome.
