Year 2 - History
Conflict, conquest and empires
Stories about significant rulers from the past give students an understanding of key ideas related to early rulers, such as struggles for power and religious influence. They learn about specific rulers from different times and places, helping students build a chronological framework.
You will learn to describe what Boudica did when the Romans tried to take her land.
The Romans came to the lands of the Iceni, Boudica's tribe, and were very cruel to her and her daughters. Boudica decided to fight to take back her land.
a tribe is a group of people, families, or villages that share the same language, customs, and ancestors.
Mistake: Pupils may think women were not able to lead rebellions. Correction: Boudica was a strong leader and the tribes respected her. The tribes were happy to follow her as part of the rebellion against the Romans.
