Year 3 - Art and design
Imagined spaces and shared stories
Made in collaboration with October Gallery, the unit looks at how materials can be transformed into imagined and shared stories. Pupils create new worlds and think about how art can shape and celebrate real ones. They investigate how public art holds stories of pride, memory, and transformation.
You will learn to create sculpture and prints using everyday objects.
Sculptures can be made from everyday materials and objects. Some artworks are temporary but still powerful.
something is only meant to last for a short period of time.
Mistake: Sculpture has to be glued or stuck together to be finished. Correction: Remind pupils that some sculptures are temporary – artists sometimes build things that can fall, change or disappear.
