In this unit, pupils learn to grow their descriptive vocabulary in discrete lessons for the first time. They learn a range of vocabulary to support writing about characters, including ambitious vocabulary for big, beautiful and eye words that can be applied to descriptive writing passages.
You will learn to use the words 'fiery', 'steely' and 'vacant' effectively in multiple contexts.
'Fiery' is an adjective which means hot-tempered, passionate or burning. 'Steely' is an adjective which means cold and determined.

Mistake: Vacant can be used to describe eyes, but it can also be used in many other contexts. Correction: Ensure children can use the word 'vacant' in all its different contexts.
