The unit of work will focus on how we can use our bodies to run as fast as possible, exploring the correct technique individually and within teams to improve performance. Pupils will also begin to evaluate how to jump as far as possible and compare throwing accurately with throwing for distance.
You will learn to run as fast as possible as part of a team.
Move: to run fast we must focus ahead, pump our arms, have a driving leg action and be light and springy on our feet. Move: when waiting for the baton, our hand should be ready with our palm pointing up and we should look forwards.

Mistake: Pupils think they need to stand still and wait for the baton to be passed to them before they start running. Correction: Encourage pupils start jogging as their teammate approaches them.
