Year 3 - Physical education
Invasion games: principles of attack and defence through ball games
The unit of work will introduce pupils to the principles of attack and defence, with a particular focus on passing, moving and scoring. Pupils will show integrity as they learn to keep possession and eventually score in order to win a modified game. The unit will focus on games using hands and feet.
You will learn to use your skills of sending a ball accurately in order to shoot and score points.
Move: looking at the target and stepping forwards as we send the ball enables us to increase our accuracy when shooting. Think: selecting an appropriate place to shoot from requires reflection, increasing our chances of hitting the target.
something you focus on and aim for to try to reach or hit.
Mistake: Pupils think they are only successful if they hit a target. Correction: Celebrate pupils for using the correct technique and for trying hard and provide demonstrations to support learning.
