Laura Mucha: performance poetry
In this unit, pupils read, respond to and perform a variety of poems by the poet, Laura Mucha. They will watch Mucha perform her own poems and learn from her about what makes an effective performance. Finally, pupils will practise different skills to perform each poem effectively to an audience.
You will learn to share your initial response to the poem and read it aloud.

Mistake: Pupils may find it hard to identify the differences between the original Cinderella and the one in the poem. Correction: Recap the traditional Cinderella story and how Cinderella is made to do all the chores. Highlight that she needed a prince to save her whereas in the poem she takes control of her own future.
