Year 4 - Geography
The UK: who are we?
This unit explores the UK's regions, population and global links. Pupils learn about counties, migration and movement within and beyond the UK, and consider how the population is changing and what this means for the people and places that make up the UK today.
You will learn to name and locate some of the UK's regions and counties.
The countries of the UK are divided into smaller areas known as regions and counties. Maps can be used to identify the size and location of the UK's counties.
A region is a part of a country or the world.
Mistake: The UK is the same as Great Britain. Correction: The UK is short for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland is not in Great Britain.
