Jesus: How does his treatment of outcasts speak to Christians today?
In this unit pupils will build up their understanding of the historical context of Jesus. They will analyse some key stories focussing on how Jesus associated with those on the margins of society. From this they will study how contemporary Christians live out this teaching through their actions.
You will learn to explain what happened when Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well.
The society in which Jesus lived was patriarchal, meaning that women had little power. The Samaritans were outcast by other Jews because their religious ideas were seen to be unacceptable.
