This unit focuses on being creative with food, looking at how recipes can be adapted. Changing ingredients, forming different shapes and great presentation are covered. Food skills are further secured, with attention to health and safety.
You will learn to use food skills to make Mexican pockets.
Recipes can be inspired by cuisines around the world. These pockets are inspired by the dish Tetelas, from Mexico. Recipes can be modified to meet the needs and preferences of different people.

Mistake: For extra flavour in a recipe, only salt and pepper can be used. Correction: There are lots of ingredients that could be used, such as spices, herbs, and other aromatic ingredients e.g. lemon grass, harissa.
