Taste and smell words
In this unit, pupils learn a wider range of vocabulary to support writing descriptively about characters, settings and scenes, including ambitious vocabulary for taste and smell words that can be applied to descriptive writing passages.
You will learn to effectively use the words 'irresistible', 'tantalising' and other rich vocabulary associated with the word delicious.
'Irresistible' is an adjective which means gorgeous and inviting. 'Tantalising' is an adjective which means tasty or delicious.

Mistake: Pupils might find it difficult to work out which word fills each gap in Task C, question 9 as more than one option can work in some of the sentences. Correction: Encourage pupils to leave one out if there is more than one option that could work and return to it when there are less options to choose from.
