'Wonder': book club
In this unit, pupils explore and discuss the novel, 'Wonder'. They share their opinion on the text and explore the key themes of discrimination and kindness. Finally, pupils discuss the characters in the text, as well as making personal connections and recommendations.
You will learn to develop your own response to 'Wonder'.
By reading from a range of perspectives, readers can discover more about characters and their relationships. Characters and their relationships change and evolve throughout a narrative.

Mistake: Pupils may think that a favourite character should always be someone who embodies positive character traits. Correction: Explain that favourite characters can be characters involved in key moments in the text; characters who change the most in the story; or, characters who remind readers of someone they know.
