Jesus: how did he speak truth to power?
In this unit pupils will focus on four key stories from the Gospels where Jesus directly challenged his society. They will see how his questioning of wealth and religious observance caused opposition at the time. They will investigate how these ideas influence Christian living today.
You will learn to explain the story of the widow's mite and the key teachings within the story.
Jesus was a Jew who challenged the society around him. At the time of Jesus, the land was occupied by the Romans. There were extremes of wealth and poverty.
