In this unit pupils will examine contemporary Muslim life in Britain. They will analyse the history of the Muslim community and the fact that this relationship stretches over centuries. They will learn that Islam in the UK is diverse, multi faceted but also suffers from prejudice.
You will learn to describe the different Muslim communities in the UK and how migration and history have shaped them.
The Muslim population in Britain comes from a wide range of backgrounds. The majority of UK Muslims are Sunni with the minority Shi'a.
Muslims who observe the Sunnah, referring to the traditions and practices of Prophet Muhammad.
Mistake: Muslims are all the same. Correction: The Muslim community is highly diverse.
