Striking and fielding games: striking and fielding tactics through rounders
This unit will challenge pupils to consistently apply effective tactics for both batting and fielding through rounders. Pupils will utilise their prior knowledge of batting and fielding tactics and consider when, where and why they will apply these during a game.
You will learn to play the full version of rounders and understand the key rules of the game.
Move: accurate throwing, catching and retrieving skills are vital to prevent the batters from scoring rounders. Move: to prevent the batting team scoring, we must react fast to retrieve the ball and throw quickly back to the target.

Mistake: When pupils are batting and they run around the bases, they often run inside the bases, which is against the rules of the game. Correction: Ensure pupils know the rule that they must run around the outside of the bases when running.
