Year 7 - Art and design
An overview of art
In this unit pupils enhance their critical thinking exploring art from various perspectives. They discuss what defines art, study galleries and museums and art's connection to the curriculum. They consider drawing and how emotions are expressed using this medium.
You will learn to discuss different artforms and use mixed media to create an abstract artwork.
Not all art is representational or permanent, some forms of art push 'traditional' boundaries. Abstract art does not depict a recognisable picture, place, person or object in the real world.
art that does not depict a recognisable picture, place, person or object in the real world.
