Informed food choices
This unit develops pupils' knowledge of food choice, and how occasion and location can have an influence. Food skills and nutrition understanding are further developed through practical work, and the use of components are explored.
You will learn to identify and explain the different factors that affect food choice.
There are a range of factors affecting food choice, including preference, religion, health, location, culture and money. Food choice depends on many personal and lifestyle factors, such as body image and role models, as well advertising.
