The unit explores a stylistic approach that outlines the different application of Action-Space-Dynamics-Relationships to four contrasting but inter-related dance styles enabling the learners to draw comparisons and consider why and how wider societal factors affected their evolution.
You will learn to perform three basic Capoeira actions.
Move: projecting to a partner, when mirroring actions, requires an established connection between the performers. Move: responding to the actions of a partner requires anticipation of their next movement.

Mistake: Capoeira is based on fighting. Correction: Capoeira is based on challenging your opponent, but in a game-like scenario. This is why performers are called 'players'.
