Year 9 - Art and design
Social action
Pupils will explore social action in a variety of forms, from collaborative practice to inndividual action and how art works can challenge ideas and influenece decisions. These lessons encourage critical thinking and self-expression, fostering creativity, empathy, and social awareness.
You will learn to design built environments which foster community pride and connection.
Built environment can create a sense of pride in a community through shared histories or experiences. Landmarks and structures can connect us to our communities.
the human-made spaces around us that create our local environment.
Mistake: Architects only consider one building, not the wider area. Correction: Architects consider the built environment, the local area's history and needs and think outside the box to create connections between communities in their work.
