Welcome to Thinkee! We're really pleased you're here. Before you start using the site, please take a few minutes to read through these terms. We've kept the language as friendly and clear as possible while still covering the necessary legal points.

By using this site or creating an account, you agree to these terms — so please make sure you're happy with everything below.

1. Who We Are

Thinkee (thinkee.app) is an educational quiz platform designed for children aged 6–16, aligned with the UK National Curriculum (Key Stages 1–4). The site is designed for use by parents and their children to support learning at home.

2. Using Our Site

You can browse our public pages freely. Some features — such as taking quizzes, tracking progress, or accessing premium content — require you to create an account and, in some cases, purchase a subscription.

We do our best to keep the site running smoothly, but occasionally we need to carry out maintenance or make changes. We cannot guarantee the site will be available 100% of the time.

3. Accounts

To use Thinkee, a parent or guardian must create an account. You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your login details secure. If you believe your password has been compromised, please change it immediately.

By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.

You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account. You must not share your login credentials with anyone outside your household.

4. Children's Profiles

Child profiles are created and managed entirely by parent account holders. Children do not create their own accounts. Parents are responsible for supervising their children's use of the platform and for the accuracy of information provided in child profiles.

By creating an account and adding a child profile, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian and consent to the processing of the child's personal data on their behalf.

The child-facing interface contains no advertisements, external links, social features, or user-generated content. For full details on how we handle children's data, please see our Privacy Policy.

5. Subscriptions and Payment

Thinkee offers a free tier with limited subjects and features, as well as paid subscription plans that unlock additional subjects and features. Subscription details and current pricing are shown on our Pricing page.

Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe, our payment processor. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge the payment method you provide on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on the plan you choose).

5.1 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Once cancelled, you will retain access to paid features for the remainder of the current billing period. No further charges will be taken after cancellation.

5.2 Refunds

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, consumers usually have a 14-day cooling-off period for distance contracts. However, by subscribing, you expressly request that we begin providing digital content immediately and acknowledge that you will lose your 14-day right to cancel once the service has begun. After access to premium digital content begins, subscription payments are non-refundable, but you may still cancel at any time to prevent future charges. If you experience technical issues that prevent you from using the service, please contact us and we will review your case.

5.3 Price Changes

We may change our subscription prices from time to time. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice before any price increase takes effect. You can cancel your subscription if you do not wish to accept the new price.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the site for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform
  • Introduce viruses, malware, or any other harmful code
  • Copy, redistribute, or commercially exploit any content from the site
  • Use automated tools to scrape or access the platform without our permission
  • Share your account credentials with anyone outside your household

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on Thinkee — including quizzes, text, design, logos, and software — is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights, and belongs to us or our licensors.

You are welcome to use our resources for personal learning within your household, but you must not copy, reproduce, or distribute any content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

7.1 Oak National Academy Content

Some quiz content on Thinkee is sourced from Oak National Academy and is made available under the Open Government Licence v3.0 (OGL). This content remains the property of Oak National Academy and its licensors.

In accordance with the OGL and Oak National Academy's terms:

Thinkee is an independent platform and is not endorsed by, or affiliated with, Oak National Academy or the Department for Education.

  • Quiz questions derived from Oak lessons are attributed as follows: "A [subject] lesson by Oak National Academy licensed under Open Government Licence (OGL)."
  • Any third-party assets included within Oak content are used in compliance with their respective OGL-compatible licences.
  • You may not extract, redistribute, or commercially exploit Oak-sourced content from this platform independently of the Thinkee service.

8. Content Accuracy

We work hard to make sure our quizzes and learning materials are accurate and aligned with the UK National Curriculum. However, we cannot guarantee that all content is error-free. Thinkee is a supplementary educational tool and does not replace formal schooling or professional teaching.

We do not suggest or imply that use of Thinkee will result in any particular exam result or academic outcome.

9. Data Protection and GDPR

Our Privacy Policy is a standalone document that explains in detail how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data.

We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Full details of how we collect, use, and protect your personal data are set out in our Privacy Policy.

This section is only a summary:

  • We only collect personal data that is necessary to provide the service (account details, child profile information, and learning activity data).
  • We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete a child profile or your account, we delete personal data where possible, but may retain limited information where required for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
  • We do not use advertising or tracking technologies in the child-facing interface.
  • Children do not create accounts independently — all child data is managed by the parent account holder.

As a parent account holder, you have the right to:

  • Access, view, and export your data and your children's learning data
  • Rectify any inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and all associated data at any time
  • Withdraw consent for data processing (by deleting your account)
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe your data rights have been breached

10. Staying Safe

We work hard to keep the site safe and secure. We recommend you use up-to-date antivirus software and a modern web browser. You are responsible for configuring your own devices and internet connection to access the site.

11. Liability

We are responsible for providing the services you pay for with reasonable care and skill. The service is provided with reasonable care and skill. While we aim to ensure availability and accuracy, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. However, to the extent permitted by law:

Under UK consumer law, digital content we provide must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If it is not, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund.

  • We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses, loss of data, or interruptions caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
  • Our total liability to you in connection with these terms shall not exceed the subscription fees you have paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim. This limitation is considered reasonable given the nature of the service and the level of fees charged.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Thinkee is provided for personal and household use. If you use it for business or commercial purposes, we accept no liability for any business losses.

12. Third-Party Links and Services

Our site may contain links to third-party websites (for example, Stripe for payment processing). These links are provided for your convenience and do not imply endorsement. We are not responsible for the content or practices of any third-party sites.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or via a notice on the site. Your continued use of the site after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

14. Termination

You may stop using Thinkee and delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms. On termination, your right to use the platform ceases and we may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.

16. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in providing the service caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, power failures, internet outages, strikes, or government actions.

17. Severability

If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
