Year 1 - Maths
Pattern in counting from 20 to 100
In this unit pupils will extend their learning by counting to 100. They will explore the pattern in counting and focus on the end of the decade and the start of the new decade numbers.
You will learn to use a range of strategies to help find missing numbers on a number track.
You can find missing numbers on number tracks in different ways. You can count forwards or backwards to find a number.
A number that is after another comes later when you count. Use this word when showing your method, then check your final answer is reasonable.
Mistake: Difficulty finding missing numbers when more than one number missing is from a number track. Correction: Encourage and model how to visualise numbers using the numbers that can be seen.
