How are community identities changing?
In this unit pupils explore the concepts of identity, community, migration and belonging.
You will learn to explain how shared values, identity and legal protections help people feel they belong in a diverse community.
Everyone has the right to feel safe from harm or threat and enjoy a sense of belonging in their communities. Communities are connected by shared goals and values which also form parts of a person's identity.

Mistake: For communities to work together successfully everyone has to always agree. Correction: Individuals can recognise and co-exist with beliefs, opinions and values that are different to their own. This allows people to peacefully live with others whom we might disagree with, as long as they do not harm anyone through their choices.
