Year 10 - Design and technology
Polymers and timbers
Pupils learn about biomimicry and innovation. They will learn how to use sources of inspiration to create a range of ideas for a product encouraging children to grow vegetables. The pupils will develop ideas and manufacture a prototype. Variation allows for different material outcomes.
You will learn to use AI to visualise design developments.
When responding to feedback AI can be used to develop ideas. AI may be biased or use stereotypes, such as representing people as one ethnicity.
Artificial Intelligence: the simulation of human intelligence in machines that can learn, reason and solve problems.
Mistake: Using AI when designing is cheating. Correction: AI can be used to help inspire us and is used to develop our own ideas. We must just be open and honest in our use of it.
