Year 10 - Music
Introduction to performance
Pupils are introduced to the GCSE performance component. They develop understanding of what makes an effective performance, including accuracy, fluency and expression, and begin to apply effective practice strategies to improve their performance skills.
You will learn to identify and apply technical and expressive skills needed for your instrument.
Good technique ensures comfort, control, and better tone. Posture and position affect sound quality and stamina.
the way you hold your body while performing.
Mistake: Good technique is only important for advanced players, beginners just need to focus on learning the notes. Correction: Technique and note learning go hand in hand from the start. Poor habits developed early are much harder to correct later and can slow down your progress.
