Health and wellbeing: cardio tennis
This unit will develop pupils' understanding of a variety of ways to have fun whilst improving personal health and fitness. Their movement skills and cardiovascular endurance will improve whilst engaging in tennis based exercises.
You will learn to develop tennis specific movements and skills alongside a fitness focus.
Move: being positioned on the balls of your feet allows you to move and change direction at speed. Think: heart rate increases with exercise intensity and maintaining it above 120 BPM enhances cardiovascular fitness.

Mistake: Pupils think you need to be a good tennis player to participate in cardio tennis. Correction: The focus is on the workout rather than the execution of shots.
