Year 11 - German
Lifestyle and wellbeing: Meine Welt
This unit revisits a range of known grammar in the context of social and global inequalities. The future and conditional tenses are reactivated. 'Nach' and 'nachdem', 'vor' and 'bevor' are revisited. Word order 3 with conjunctions ob, sobald, solange, bis and damit are practised.
You will learn to use a range of present tense verbs, including those with small changes to the stem, in extended writing about living with a disability.
Weak verbs follow a regular pattern of changes in the present tense. For verbs stems ending in 'd', 't', 'm' or 'n', add 'e' before the ending in the 'du', 'er, sie, es' and 'ihr' forms.
verb that follows a regular pattern of changes. Say or write it in a short sentence so you use the word actively.
Mistake: For verb stems ending in '-el', remove the 'e' from the stem in all present tense forms. Correction: For verb stems ending in '-el', remove the 'e' from the stem in the first person singular of the present tense only.
