This unit will examine the socio-cultural factors that impact on physical activity, sport and society. Understanding engagement patterns of different social groups and factors affecting participation require an ability to interpret and analyse data.
You will learn to explain strategies that can be used to increase participation.
Strategies can be promoted via targeted advertising through the media. Examples of provision to increase participation include facilities, opening times, coaching, equipment and funding.
the different aspects that can influence whether people take part in sport or physical activity.
Mistake: Provision only includes funding or money. Correction: Increasing provision can also include improving facilities, time, coaching and equipment.
