Year 2 - English
Pre-cursive lower case letters revision
In this unit, pupils learn the pre-cursive formation for all 26 letters of the alphabet. They learn the specifc movements required to form each letter and how to start and finish a letter with a lead in and a lead out.
You will learn to form the pre-cursive letters b, p, h and k.
The pre-cursive letters b, p, h and k all have a lead in and a lead out. The pre-cursive letters b, p, h and k all start on the baseline.
the stroke or line that guides us into starting a letter.
Mistake: Children may form the print version of the letter and then add the 'lead in' separately. Correction: Model and emphasise saying 'Ready, line, go' to remind them that the letter starts with the lead in on the baseline for pre-cursive letters.
