Ball skills: hitting and striking
This unit will enable pupils to refine their understanding of how they can develop their motor competence of hitting and striking to send the ball into space in order to win a game. Pupils will reflect on why hitting into space is essential in order to score points against the opposing team.
You will learn to hit the ball accurately with power, aiming for space away from fielders, in order to score points.
Move: hitting the ball with accuracy and power enables you to aim for space and away from fielders. Think: to score maximum points, you have to hit the ball away from the fielders.

Mistake: Pupils focus solely on their arm movements and neglect the use of their legs and hips to create power. Correction: Ensure pupils understand how that bending their knees and rotating their hips can create more power for bigger hits.
