Striking and fielding games: fielding vs batting
The unit introduces batting vs fielding. Pupils will develop an understanding of the purpose of each team and learn how to apply a variety of skills such as throwing and stopping the ball to keep the batter's score low as well as their competence in striking in order to score points when batting.
You will learn to throw the ball accurately using the correct underarm throwing technique.
Move: when throwing, step forward with the opposite foot to the throwing hand, following through pointing at the target. Move: throwing the ball quickly and accurately to our teammates is important when fielding in a game.

Mistake: Pupils throw with too much force when aiming for a target. Correction: Managing the right amount force of a throw requires practise and trial and error to judge how much force is needed.
