Spirituality: How do music and silence express beliefs?
In this unit pupils will examine the role of music and silence within Christianity, Muslim and Sikh worldviews. They will investigate how music is used differently within worldviews, and how worldviews may have different attitudes to the use of music and silence.
You will learn to explain how Sikhs might use music in their worship.
The Guru Granth Sahib is full of poetic verse and is sung in gurdwaras. Many Sikhs will use music to connect with God.

Mistake: Sikhs are not allowed to use music in their worship. Correction: Music is an important element of Sikh worship at home and in the gurdwara.
