Year 4 - Art and design
Architecture: drawing and 3D design
In this unit, pupils investigate an architect and learn to draw buildings in an architectural style. They may work in groups to respond to an architectural design challenge and design and make a solution in two and three dimensions, before making a group presentation.
You will learn to present your group's architectural design, explaining its features, purpose, and how we made it.
Presenting a collaborative architectural model and proposal is an opportunity to explain a design and its purpose. Design ideas are best communicated to an audience by speaking clearly and confidently.
a clear plan or idea presented to others, explaining what you want to make and why.
Mistake: As long as a model is shown, it doesn't need to be explained. Correction: It's important to explain your ideas clearly - your model shows the design, but your words help others understand why and how you made it.
